Who is responsible
The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the publisher of asgharakbari.com, Asghar Akbari, Ph.D., K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.
Hosting
The site is static: every page is a finished file, and nothing you do on it is stored by the site. It is served from a server run by DigitalOcean (DigitalOcean, LLC, USA) that stands in Frankfurt, Germany. To deliver a page, the server necessarily processes your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser's technical details. Its log is overwritten automatically, usually within two days. The legal basis is the publisher's legitimate interest in delivering the site securely (GDPR art. 6 (1) (f)). DigitalOcean acts on the publisher's behalf under a data processing agreement; it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and its agreement adds the EU standard contractual clauses for transfers to the USA.
Fonts and links
The typefaces are served from this site, so no font service learns of your visit. Links to other sites, such as DOI links, are plain links: nothing is sent to them unless you follow one.
Your rights
You may ask what data is held about you and have it corrected, deleted or its use restricted (GDPR art. 15 to 18), and object to processing based on legitimate interest (art. 21). Write to the publisher at the university address above. You may also complain to a data protection authority.
